Malas + Meditation: Make Your Own Mala Workshop
Have you ever seen a beautiful string of beads wrapped around your fellow yogis wrist or being used in their meditation? This sacred tool is called a mala. A mala is a traditional strand of prayer beads used as a guide for meditation, often to focus the breath or to repeat a mantra, and based on the stone or material it is created with, can carry different qualities and energy within it.
In this afternoon workshop with Speakeasy teacher, crystal specialist, and energy worker Megan Cannon of Moonmalas by Megan, you’ll get to choose from a selection of different crystals and materials to fabricate your own mala, learn about the healing properties of the crystals you choose, how to use them your mala for meditation, and more.

You will learn to activate and relax these areas in union with your breath and through gentle, accessible poses suited for all levels. Next, students will explore how to engage and manage the pressure in these deep core areas in common postures and movements you might experience in a yoga class, and the session will conclude with learning how to relax the deep core when appropriate to balance out the more active exercises.
